India| 04 March , 2026:According to state authorities, Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde facilitated the dispatch of two special aircraft to Dubai. These flights brought back 164 passengers late at night to Mumbai. An additional 41 passengers returned shortly after midnight, increasing the total number evacuated from Dubai to 205. Simultaneously, a Mumbai-London flight carrying 200 passengers landed safely at Mumbai airport on Tuesday morning. The flight, operated by British Airways, transported Indian nationals who were either directly affected by airspace disruptions or rerouted due to escalating hostilities in the Gulf region.

Passengers arriving at Mumbai airport expressed relief, many stating they had faced uncertainty due to sudden airspace closures and flight cancellations triggered by the conflict.The safe return of 405 passengers to Mumbai offers significant relief to families across Maharashtra amid rising geopolitical tensions in West Asia. However, with 200 citizens still awaiting evacuation, coordinated diplomatic engagement and aviation preparedness remain critical.
As the Iran-Israel conflict continues to unfold, the coming days will test both international diplomacy and emergency response systems. For now, Maharashtra’s swift coordination with the central government and airlines like Air India has ensured that hundreds of citizens are safely back home.
