This year’s four-day event features an extensive lineup of panel discussions, interviews, storytelling sessions, poetry meets, book conversations and cultural performances. With increasing participation from school and college students, the conference is expected to be more vibrant and engaging. On the eve of the event, a grand book procession with decorated tableaux will be held, along with a four-day book exhibition open to all readers.

The conference has designed a wide range of thematic discussions covering publishing practices, lexicography, the direction of post-classical Marathi literature, the decline of horror and mystery writing, the evolution of the women’s movement over fifty years and the changing realities of rural Maharashtra. Special sessions will focus on two notable books: Aivaj by Amol Palekar and Anna He Apurnabrahma by Shahu Patole. Interviews with Sahitya Akademi award winner Anuradha Patil and well-known writer-editor Girish Kuber will also be key highlights.

The program will include a special tribute to saint literature on the 750th birth anniversary of Sant Dnyaneshwar and the 375th year of Sant Tukaram’s ascension, through the presentation ‘Bahurupi Bharud’ led by Dr. Bhavarth Dekhne. Popular performances such as the play Shikayla Gelo Ek starring Prashant Damle, segments from Maharashtrachi Hasya Jatra and folk narrative performances will also be staged.

Meanwhile, organiser Milind Joshi expressed concern over the delayed release of government funds. Despite an earlier announcement by the state Marathi Language Minister promising CSR support along with an additional one crore rupees, the conference has yet to receive the sanctioned amount.
