Around 350 volunteers donated blood at the 9th annual camp organised by the R. M. Dhariwal Foundation in Pune, marking Rasiklal Dhariwal’s birth anniversary and promoting community service and public health
Pune | 07 March, 2026: The R. M. Dhariwal Foundation organised its 9th annual blood donation camp in Pune to mark the birth anniversary of late industrialist Rasiklal Dhariwal, continuing a long-standing tradition of social service and community welfare. The camp witnessed a strong response from citizens, with around 350 people voluntarily donating blood.
Organisers said the event was conducted in an energetic and positive atmosphere, reflecting the growing awareness and participation of citizens in public health initiatives. One of the notable outcomes of the camp was the collection of five units of rare negative blood groups, which are considered extremely valuable during emergency medical situations.The blood donation drive was supported by blood banks from K.E.M. Hospital, Poona Hospital and Inlaks Hospital. In addition, the foundation deployed its own blood collection van to facilitate the process and manage the large number of donors.

Marathi actor Siddharth Jadhav attended the programme as a special guest and appreciated the initiative. Several prominent personalities also visited the camp to extend their support, including industrialist Popatlal Oswal, corporator Swapnali Pandit, Pradeep Rathi and Akash Rathi, Chairman of Latur Urban Co-operative Bank Ltd. Akash Rathi personally participated in the camp by donating blood.
Senior officials from law enforcement and the government also marked their presence. Deputy Commissioner of Police (Headquarters) Sagar Kavade, Senior Police Inspector Vijaykumar Doke from Koregaon Park Police Station, and Kailas Gaikwad from the Revenue Department attended the event. Notably, Senior PI Vijaykumar Doke also donated blood, encouraging others to contribute.

As part of its broader social initiatives, the foundation extended financial assistance to several organisations including Hare Krishna Mission Pune, RMD School and College in Ranjangaon, Sadhu Vaswani Mission, Siddhatishay Kshetra Kundal and Shri Adinath Digambar Jain Temple in Walhe.
The foundation also distributed 150 native saplings of around six feet height free of cost and screened a documentary on a tree transplantation initiative conceptualised by Janhavi Dhariwal Balan.Foundation President Janhavi Dhariwal Balan and Vice President Shobha Dhariwal said the organisation will continue to expand such initiatives aimed at saving lives and promoting social responsibility in the community.
