Madhya Pradesh Police Loots ₹1.45 Crore Hawala Money; 10 Officers Suspended
In a shocking incident in Seoni, Madhya Pradesh, 10 police officers, including SDOP Pooja Pandey, were suspended for allegedly looting ₹1.45 crore in hawala money from a vehicle. The money was seized during a vehicle check on the night of October 8.
Seoni, Madhya Pradesh — October 13, 2025 — In a startling breach of trust, 10 police officers from Seoni district, including Sub-Divisional Officer of Police (SDOP) Pooja Pandey, have been suspended for allegedly looting ₹1.45 crore in hawala money during a vehicle check on the night of October 8.
The incident unfolded when a vehicle traveling from Katni to Jalna in Maharashtra was intercepted by the police on National Highway 44 near Seoni. The vehicle was carrying a total of ₹2.96 crore, suspected to be hawala money. While the police officially recorded the seizure of ₹1.45 crore, the remaining amount was reportedly taken by the officers involved. The driver of the vehicle was allegedly assaulted during the incident.
The matter came to light when the trader, who had entrusted the money to the driver, confronted the authorities about the missing funds. An internal investigation was initiated, leading to the suspension of 10 officers, including SDOP Pooja Pandey and Bandol SHO Arpit Bhairam. The suspended personnel include SHOs, head constables, constables, and gunmen.
Seoni Superintendent of Police Sunil Malik confirmed the incident and stated that a detailed investigation is underway. The police have assured that strict action will be taken against those found guilty.
This incident has raised serious concerns about corruption within the police force and has shaken public trust in law enforcement agencies. The authorities have pledged to conduct a thorough investigation and ensure accountability.
