Pune Municipal Corporation announces ward-wise voter list program ahead of civic elections. Residents can correct name errors, report deceased persons, and request inclusion of names moved to different wards by Nov 14. Final list to be published Dec 10.
Pune | October 15, 2025 — The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has announced plans to publish a ward-wise draft voter list ahead of the upcoming civic elections. This draft will be open for public review, giving citizens a chance to verify their details and submit corrections before the final voter list is released.
PMC officials confirmed that the process will allow citizens to correct spelling mistakes, update ward information, and remove names of deceased individuals. People whose names are listed under the wrong ward or who have shifted residences will be able to submit written requests for correction within the specified period.
The current voter database has been prepared based on the electoral roll from the assembly constituencies, valid as of July 1, 2025. The aim is to ensure that every eligible voter’s information is accurate and up to date before the election process begins.
Once the draft list is released, it will be displayed at all ward offices and uploaded on the PMC’s official website. Citizens can check their names, verify their details, and file objections or requests for correction at the nearest ward office. After all valid changes are made, the corporation will publish the final list, which will serve as the official roll for voting.
Political parties and civic groups have welcomed this initiative, emphasizing that accurate voter rolls are essential for free and fair elections. Past discrepancies in voter data have led to confusion and complaints during polls, making this review process an important step toward transparency.
As Pune prepares for its civic elections, the PMC’s move to open the draft voter list to public scrutiny highlights its commitment to accountability. Residents are encouraged to participate actively in the verification process to ensure their names are correctly listed and that no eligible voter is left out.
