A young doctor from Mumbai’s KEM Hospital was brutally attacked with a knife by his girlfriend’s brother and two others. The doctor sustained serious injuries, and police have launched an investigation.


Mumbai|October 28, 2025: A shocking incident was reported from Mumbai’s Parel area where a 26-year-old doctor working at KEM Hospital was attacked with a knife by his girlfriend’s brother. The assault took place early on Monday morning outside the hospital premises and left the doctor critically injured.

According to police reports, the victim and his girlfriend both work at KEM Hospital. Her brother, angered by their relationship, confronted the doctor near the hospital gate along with two accomplices. The argument quickly escalated, and one of the accused allegedly pulled out a knife and attacked the doctor multiple times. Nearby security personnel and staff members rushed to intervene and immediately took the injured doctor to the hospital for treatment. He is currently receiving medical care and remains in a serious but stable condition.

Police have registered a case against three individuals in connection with the attack. The main accused, the girlfriend’s brother, has been taken into custody, while efforts are underway to trace the other two suspects who fled the scene after the assault.

Authorities are also reviewing CCTV footage from the area to confirm the sequence of events and identify all those involved. Senior officers stated that the motive appears to be personal, rooted in opposition to the victim’s relationship with the accused’s sister.

The incident has caused panic among hospital staff and raised concerns about safety within the premises. Hospital authorities have urged stricter security measures to prevent such violent incidents in the future.
