Anti-Terrorism Squad and Local Crime Branch conducted a joint operation in Narayangaon, detaining three men with three country-made pistols and nine live cartridges. A criminal case has been registered.


Pune | October 04, 2025: In a joint operation, the Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) and the Local Crime Branch (LCB) detained three men from Narayangaon for illegally possessing firearms. The police seized three country-made pistols and nine live cartridges during the raid.

According to officials, while patrolling the Narayangaon area, officers received a confidential tip that three individuals were carrying weapons near the ST stand. Acting swiftly on the information, the team, under the directives of Superintendent of Police Sandeep Singh Gill, conducted the operation and detained the suspects at the location.

A case has been registered at Narayangaon Police Station, and further investigation is underway to trace the source of the weapons and determine their intended use. The police are also probing whether the accused have any prior criminal records or links to larger networks.

The operation was carried out under the guidance of SP Sandeep Singh Gill, Additional SP Ramesh Chopde, and Deputy SP Dhananjay Patil. The on-ground team was led by Assistant Police Inspectors Prakash Pawar (ATS) and Mahadev Shelar (LCB), with assistance from several officers including Vikramsingh Tapkir, Deepak Sable, and Hemant Virole.

Police have intensified surveillance in the region following the seizure and assured that strict action will be taken against anyone found possessing illegal firearms.
