Pune EPFO Celebrates 73rd Foundation Day with Awards, Scholarships, and Cultural Programs

Pune’s EPFO offices celebrated their 73rd Foundation Day with awards, scholarships, and cultural programs. Officers, staff, and employers were honoured, highlighting EPFO’s social security impact on millions of Indian workers.
Pune, 05th November 2025: The Regional Offices of Pune and Akurdi jointly celebrated the 73rd Foundation Day of the Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) at Annabhau Sathe Sanskritic Bhawan. The event, inaugurated with the traditional lamp lighting, was attended by Chief Guest Shri Amitesh Kumar, IPS, Commissioner of Police, along with senior officials, staff, families, and employer representatives.
Shri Sanat Kumar, RPFC Akurdi, highlighted EPFO’s global stature, managing over ₹28 lakh crore and serving around 15% of India’s workforce. Shri Amit Vashist, RPFC Pune, emphasised the human aspect of work, noting that every claim supports families depending on their funds.
Shri Amitesh Kumar commended EPFO officials for their dedication, pointing out the Pune offices’ service to 47 lakh subscribers and the organisation’s vital role in social security.

Awards were presented to eleven establishments, including Tech Mahindra, Sakar Robotics, Ruby Hall Clinic, Jehangir Hospital, BG Shirke Constructions, MESCO, Amdocs, Serum Institute, and Zensar Technologies, for best compliance. 34 officers and staff were also honoured, with Accounts Group 102, Legal, and Grievance sections receiving a running trophy for excellence.
Scholarships and book awards were given to 27 staff children for outstanding academic achievements. Cultural highlights included a music album “Gajar Shaurayacha” and a theatrical performance ‘Shiv-Rajyabhishek Prayog’ performed by the staff.
The celebration underscored EPFO’s commitment to social security, recognising both organisational achievements and human impact.
