IndiGo Flight Disruptions At Pune Airport Leave Passengers Stranded, Frustrated
Multiple flight cancellations and long delays by IndiGo at Pune Airport over the past two days have stranded hundreds of passengers. Poor communication and abrupt schedule changes caused widespread travel disruptions.
Pune | December 4, 2025: Passengers at Pune Airport are reeling after a wave of flight cancellations and extensive delays by carrier IndiGo. At least two flights — one from Nagpur to Pune and another from Pune to Bengaluru — were cancelled, while others, such as the Pune–Delhi service, were delayed by nearly five hours. Several travellers were left waiting for hours on buses or inside aircraft, only to learn of cancellation at the last minute.
One affected passenger described how he and his friends were flown in by bus to the terminal, kept waiting without information for over an hour, and later informed around 2:15 a.m. that their flight was cancelled. They ended up booking a cab back to Pune at considerable expense and trouble.
Many passengers voiced anger over the lack of timely announcements or updates. Some reported being stuck inside coaches or aircraft without clarity, while others missed onward connections or important commitments. Others pointed to regulatory changes around crew rostering and rest-time norms, which industry sources say may have contributed to the disruption.
In response, the airline has acknowledged the operational challenges, apologised for the inconvenience, and offered alternate flights or refunds to affected customers. They have requested travellers to check flight status online before heading to the airport. Meanwhile, passengers, appear unconvinced — calling for better communication and accountability.
The recent chaos underscores larger issues in flight scheduling and airport handling at Pune, emphasizing the need for robust contingency planning and improved ground-staff coordination to avoid future travel breakdowns.
