B.Tech Student Orchestrates Robbery At His Own Home In Sakri; Police Expose Luxury-Driven Theft Plot

A 20-year-old B.Tech student in Sakri staged a robbery at his own home to fund his expensive lifestyle. Police uncovered the conspiracy, arrested him and two friends, and recovered stolen gold.

Sakri | December 4, 2025:A startling case of theft driven by desire for a lavish lifestyle has come to light in Sakri, where a B.Tech student allegedly planned and executed a robbery at his own residence. The accused, identified as 20-year-old Bhavesh Nerkar of Suyog Colony on Perejpur Road, was arrested along with two accomplices after the police uncovered the truth behind the complaint he had filed.

On November 30, Bhavesh reported to the police that unknown thieves had broken into his house around 7 pm while he and his mother were visiting relatives. He claimed that gold jewelry weighing 10 tolas and 2 grams was stolen during the break-in. The case initially appeared to be a typical burglary; however, investigators found Bhavesh’s statements inconsistent, raising suspicion.

During further questioning, the police reviewed his background and discovered discrepancies that hinted at his involvement. When confronted, Bhavesh eventually confessed to orchestrating the robbery with two friends. According to the investigation, he had grown accustomed to an extravagant lifestyle while pursuing his B.Tech studies in Pune. Facing financial pressure, he devised a plan to steal valuables from his own home.

As per the plan, Bhavesh took his mother out at a specific time, allowing his accomplices to enter the house. After the theft, he sold about 2 tolas of gold to a local jeweler, while the rest was buried in a nearby field. Police later recovered all the stolen gold and arrested the three accused.

The incident has shocked the local community, raising concerns about rising financial pressures and misguided influences among young students.
