NCP leader Geeta Hinge, newly appointed women’s regional vice-president of Nationalist Congress Party (Ajit Pawar faction), died in a head-on car crash near Gadchiroli Nagpur highway late Sunday night.

Nagpur|08 December 2025:A tragic accident on the -Nagpur stretch claimed the life of senior NCP leader Geetatai Hinge late Sunday night. While returning from a visit to Nagpur, her car collided head-on with another vehicle near Pachgav village in Gadchiroli district. The crash was so severe that Hinge died on the spot.

Hinge had recently joined the Ajit Pawar faction of the NCP on 26 November 2025. Immediately following her entry into the party, she was appointed as the women’s regional vice-president  a role that had raised expectations due to her record of active public service and social work in Gadchiroli.

Apart from her political work, Hinge was also the head of the social-welfare group Aadhar Vishva Foundation, through which she provided aid to vulnerable communities. Her sudden death is being mourned widely across political and social circles in the district. Local police have filed a report and begun a full investigation. According to police sources, the offending vehicle reportedly crossed the median before colliding with Hinge’s car. Her husband and the driver of the car have sustained serious injuries and are currently being treated.

News of her death has sent shockwaves through Gadchiroli. Party leaders and community members have expressed condolences and described her as a dedicated leader who combined political engagement with genuine social work. Her untimely demise leaves a void both in regional politics and on the grassroots social-service front.
