Bhosari BJP MLA Mahesh Landge outlined 10 major civic challenges facing Pimpri-Chinchwad in the Maharashtra Assembly, pressing for urgent funding and solutions on traffic, water, waste projects and infrastructure upgrades

Nagpur/Pune | 12 December 2025:BJP MLA Mahesh Landge used the winter session of the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly to draw attention to a set of urgent civic issues affecting Pimpri-Chinchwad city. During a supplementary demands debate, he stressed the need for coordinated action and funding from the state government to address long-standing problems that residents face daily.

Landge said Pimpri-Chinchwad’s population has grown rapidly, placing stress on infrastructure and basic services. Among the top concerns he raised were severe traffic congestion on key national highways intersecting the city, irregular water and electricity supply, and delays in critical project implementation.

He called for immediate measures to ease traffic on the Mumbai-Bengaluru (NH-4) and Pune-Nashik (NH-60) highways, especially in densely populated corridors like Tathawade, Punawale, Wakad and Hinjawadi, where bottlenecks disrupt daily commuting. Landge also urged quick approvals for strategic metro routes connecting major nodes such as Hinjawadi, Pimple Saudagar, Bhosari and Chakan, which he said would provide long-term relief to commuters.

In addition to transport issues, Landge sought funds for the second phase of the city’s waste-to-energy project, improved water infrastructure including the Pawana Closed Pipeline Project, and a dedicated water quota from dams to ensure reliable supply for the growing population. He also highlighted the need for rejuvenation of local rivers and projects that enhance urban environment quality.

Landge pressed for the establishment of a dedicated MSEDCL circle office in Pimpri-Chinchwad to handle electricity grievances more efficiently. He also proposed initiatives for cow shelters across municipal areas and a cultural-educational hub in the city with an international-standard library focused on constitutional studies.

The MLA stressed that securing adequate funds and swift administrative response is vital for sustainable development of Pimpri-Chinchwad. He expressed confidence that under the current state government the issues raised would be addressed during the ongoing legislative session.
