Pune, December 13, 2025 – Pune police rescued two minor girls after a 3,300 km multi-state search across Gujarat and Rajasthan. Two suspects were arrested, and the girls are safe.
Pune police successfully rescued two missing minor girls after a massive multi-state operation spanning more than 3,300 km, culminating in the apprehension of two suspects. The case was reported when the girls were reported missing by their families in late November, prompting immediate action by the Kalepadal police unit.
Investigators treated the case as high-priority due to the age of the victims. Tracking efforts began with analyzing mobile phone activity and movements, which revealed that the girls had crossed state borders. The investigation team quickly coordinated searches in Gujarat and Rajasthan, using both technological tools and on-ground field work to trace their location.

The search led police to multiple cities in Gujarat, including Vapi, Surat, and Ahmedabad, before moving into Rajasthan. In Rajasthan, one girl was safely located in Rani and the other in Pali. Both were placed in protective custody and reunited with their families after undergoing medical and welfare checks.
Two men, aged 21 and 31, were arrested in connection with the case. They have been booked under relevant sections of the law and provisions of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, given the gravity of crimes involving minors.
Officials noted that key breakthroughs came from analyzing intermittent mobile signals and digital communication, which helped trace probable routes taken by the girls. The suspects reportedly used social media and online contacts to persuade the minors to leave home, creating a false sense of trust. The girls may have traveled using trains and other public transport during the journey.
Authorities emphasised the importance of parental vigilance regarding children’s online interactions. They warned that minors are particularly vulnerable to manipulation over social media platforms and that families should monitor unusual travel plans and report missing persons immediately.
The successful recovery has been welcomed by the victims’ families and the community. Police officers involved in the operation received commendations for their dedication and swift action, reflecting the effectiveness of coordinated investigations in protecting vulnerable individuals and countering exploitation.
