Pune | February 09, 2026: A 20-year-old Pune youth was murdered in a violent incident allegedly linked to a financial dispute, prompting police action and arrests in the Markal–Peva area. The body of the victim was discovered in Peva village, located within the Gram Panchayat limits of a neighbouring taluka, triggering a murder investigation that has put authorities on alert.

Police identified the deceased as a young man from Markal village, who had reportedly been involved in a money-related transaction gone wrong. Investigators say tensions over the financial matter escalated, leading to a fatal confrontation that left the victim dead before help could arrive.

Acting swiftly on leads, law enforcement detained two suspects identified as Krishna Rajaram Dhotre and Maruti Mankar in connection with the case. Both individuals were taken into custody after preliminary questioning suggested their involvement in the murder.
