Pune
Rohan Builders honours sustainability champions across Pune societies under its ‘My Society, My Valentine’ initiative, aligned with Pune’s Clean & Green mission.
Pune | 17 February, 2026- Reinforcing its long-standing commitment to conscious urban development, Rohan Builders organised a unique inter-society initiative titled “My Society, My Valentine” on February 14, 2026, celebrating sustainability-led governance across its handed-over residential communities in Pune. The initiative was aligned with Pune’s Clean & Green mission and aimed at recognising excellence in sustainability, safety standards, and responsible community management practices. The grand finale was hosted at the prestigious Sheraton Grand Pune Bund Garden Hotel, symbolising collective pride and the spirit of shared urban responsibility among residents and housing committees.

The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from both long-established and emerging Rohan societies, representing nearly two decades of evolving residential governance standards. Unlike conventional award ceremonies, this initiative followed a structured evaluation process conducted by a distinguished jury panel comprising architects with over 30 years of professional experience. The assessment covered key sustainability parameters such as solar energy adoption, waste segregation systems, energy conservation measures, cleanliness standards, security protocols, governance transparency, and innovation in community engagement. The process ensured that recognition was based on measurable performance and technical merit rather than symbolic participation.
The ceremony was graced by Naval Kishore Ram, IAS, Pune Municipal Commissioner, who appreciated the initiative as a meaningful contribution to the city’s environmental vision. Addressing the gathering, he emphasised that sustainable urban transformation begins at the grassroots level. He noted that when housing societies consistently implement practices such as energy conservation, efficient waste management, and cleanliness drives, their collective impact significantly strengthens the broader urban ecosystem. His remarks underscored the growing importance of community-led governance in achieving long-term environmental resilience in rapidly expanding cities like Pune.
Among the award recipients, Rohan Mithila 1 was declared Society of the Year, followed by Rohan Nilay and Rohan Garima. Special Initiative Awards were presented to Rohan Tarang, Rohan Kritika, and Rohan Abhilasha, while several other societies were acknowledged for emerging best practices in sustainability and community management. The recognition not only celebrated achievements but also encouraged healthy competition and benchmarking among residential communities.
Speaking at the event, Pooja Bhagwat, GM Sales & Marketing at Rohan Builders, reiterated the company’s philosophy of remaining engaged with communities beyond project handover. She stated that the developer actively guides and supports societies to function efficiently, innovate continuously, and maintain responsible operational standards over time. This sustained engagement model reflects a broader shift in India’s real estate sector, where developers are increasingly prioritising lifecycle responsibility, environmental accountability, and long-term community building over transactional project delivery.

As Pune continues to expand amid rising environmental challenges, housing societies are emerging as critical stakeholders in urban sustainability. From rooftop solar installations to structured waste segregation systems and community-driven cleanliness campaigns, residential communities play a decisive role in shaping the city’s ecological footprint. Initiatives like “My Society, My Valentine” demonstrate how collaborative efforts between developers, residents, and municipal authorities can create scalable models of sustainable living.
In conclusion, Rohan Builders’ sustainability recognition initiative stands as a progressive example of how private developers can contribute meaningfully to urban environmental goals. By celebrating societies that embody conscious and collective living practices, the company reinforces the idea that sustainable cities are built not only through infrastructure but through consistent community action and responsible governance.
