A 29-year-old poklane operator from Madhya Pradesh was found dead after allegedly hanging himself from a tree in a field in Paithan taluka of Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar district, police said

Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar |07 February, 2026: A shocking incident has come to light from Paithan taluka in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar district, where a young poklane operator from Madhya Pradesh allegedly died by suicide by hanging himself from a tree. The incident occurred in the agricultural fields near Ranjangaon (Dandga) village and has triggered concern among locals.

According to preliminary information, the deceased has been identified as 29-year-old Mahip Ramgopal Pal, a resident of Madhya Pradesh who had come to the region for work. Pal was employed as a poklane machine operator on a road construction project in the area.

Police officials said the incident came to light on Friday morning when locals noticed him hanging from an umbar tree in the fields. It is suspected that he used a handkerchief to end his life, though the exact circumstances leading to the incident are still being investigated.

Upon receiving information, the local police reached the spot and initiated the necessary legal procedures. The body was later taken into custody and sent for post-mortem examination to determine the exact cause of death.

Authorities said that the reason behind the alleged suicide has not yet been confirmed. Investigators are examining possible personal or work-related factors that may have led to the incident. Statements of colleagues and people associated with the construction project are also expected to be recorded as part of the inquiry.The incident has created a sense of shock in the area, as the young worker had reportedly been engaged in routine work at the project site until recently.

Police have registered a case and further investigation is currently underway to establish the circumstances surrounding the death.
