Mumbai, March 9, 2026: In a major step to prevent cheating in the Class 12 board online examinations, the education authorities have decided to implement screen recording for all students appearing in digital assessments. Departmental heads recently conducted a “demo exam” to ensure students are aware of the new system and its monitoring protocols.

Officials emphasized that the move aims to eliminate malpractice and enhance the integrity of online examinations. Screen recording will allow proctors to track each student’s on-screen activity, detect suspicious behavior, and ensure adherence to exam guidelines.

The “surgical strike” against copying, as described by department heads, is expected to deter dishonest practices. During the demo exams, students were briefed on how the software works, including continuous screen monitoring and real-time alerts if any irregular activity is detected.

Authorities said the technology will record the entire exam session for later review, enabling strict action against those found violating rules. Students are encouraged to familiarize themselves with the interface and guidelines to avoid unintentional mistakes.

The online exam system has been strengthened with multiple security layers, including anti-switching tools that prevent students from opening unauthorized tabs or applications. Students who attempt to bypass the system will face strict penalties, including disqualification from the test.
