March 12, 2026 | Pimpri-Chinchwad A tragic road accident in Pimpri-Chinchwad claimed the life of a 14-year-old boy after he was run over by a Ready-Mix Concrete (RMC) truck, sparking anger among local residents and raising fresh concerns about heavy vehicle movement in crowded city areas.

The victim has been identified as Farooq Tamboli, a minor who reportedly d!ed on the spot after being crushed under the wheels of the truck. According to preliminary information, the accident allegedly occurred due to the negligence of the truck driver, whose vehicle belonged to a private concrete supply company. The incident reportedly took place near the premises of the Pimpri-Chinchwad Police Commissionerate, an area that witnesses heavy traffic movement throughout the day. Authorities said the truck was moving at high speed when it struck the boy, resulting in fatal injuries.

Following the accident, tensions escalated in the area as angry residents gathered at the spot and protested against the incident. Some locals allegedly pelted stones at the truck and damaged the vehicle in anger over the tragedy. Police teams quickly arrived at the scene and brought the situation under control to prevent further escalation.

Officials from Chinchwad Police Station detained the truck driver and initiated legal action in connection with the incident. Senior officers confirmed that an investigation has been launched to determine the exact circumstances of the accident and whether traffic regulations related to heavy vehicles were violated.
