Pune | 13 March, 2026: Authorities at Bharati Vidyapeeth Police Station have registered a case of alleged financial fraud amounting to Rs 5.80 crore, including accumulated interest, against two persons in connection with a construction project dispute. The complaint highlights irregularities in financial dealings and alleged misappropriation of funds related to a major construction contract.

Police officials stated that preliminary investigations indicate that the accused allegedly diverted funds and failed to comply with contractual obligations, causing significant financial losses to the complainant. The matter reportedly involves multiple financial transactions over a period, which are currently under detailed scrutiny.
The case has drawn attention due to the scale of the alleged fraud, and authorities have said that all relevant bank records, agreements, and transaction details are being examined. “We are collecting evidence and tracing the flow of funds to establish the full extent of the alleged financial malpractice,” said a police spokesperson.
Both accused individuals have been summoned for questioning, and the investigation is ongoing. Law enforcement officials have indicated that additional persons involved in the project may also be questioned if evidence points to further complicity.

Financial experts note that cases of this nature often involve complex transactions and can require extensive forensic audits. The police have requested full cooperation from all parties involved, including contractors, auditors, and banking institutions, to ensure the case progresses efficiently.
The complaint’s registration marks the first formal legal step in resolving the dispute and aims to hold responsible parties accountable under the law. Authorities have also assured the complainant that measures are being taken to prevent further financial losses during the investigation.
As investigations continue, the case serves as a reminder of the importance of transparency, proper documentation, and adherence to contractual obligations in large-scale construction projects. Legal observers say such actions by law enforcement send a strong message against financial impropriety in the construction sector.
