Ahilyanagar | 18 March, 2026: A shocking incident has come to light from Sangamner taluka in Ahilyanagar district, where a 13-year-old girl studying in Class 6 was attacked with acid while returning home from school on Tuesday. The incident, reported from Vadgaon Pan area, has sparked outrage and concern across the district.
According to police officials, the girl, who has been living with her maternal uncle for education following her father’s death, was on her way home after school when an unidentified person suddenly threw acid on her. Hearing her screams, nearby residents rushed to her aid and immediately shifted her to a hospital.

Doctors have confirmed that the girl is in stable condition but remains in a state of severe shock and distress. Authorities have launched an investigation, and efforts are underway to trace and apprehend the accused, who fled the scene after carrying out the attack.

Following this, senior officials instructed the police to expedite the investigation and ensure swift action.

She assured that the entire cost of the victim’s medical treatment will be borne by the government.The incident has once again highlighted concerns around safety and the urgent need for stricter measures against such violent crimes.
