Special Passport Drive at Baner
A special passport drive will be conducted in Pune on April 11, offering quicker appointment access for both normal and Tatkaal applicants to ease urgent travel needs.
Pune | April 1, 2026: In a move aimed at improving citizen access to passport services, a special passport drive will be at the Passport Seva Kendra Pune on April 11. The initiative is part of a broader effort by the Ministry of External Affairs India to streamline passport issuance and cater to applicants requiring urgent travel documentation.

The drive will be held at the Baner-based Passport Seva Kendra located on Baner-Pashan Link Road, where both “Normal” and “Tatkaal” category applicants will be accommodated. Authorities said the initiative is designed to provide faster appointment availability and reduce waiting time, particularly for those with immediate travel requirements.
Applicants are required to complete the online application process prior to booking an appointment. This includes registering on the official portal Passport India portal or through the mPassport Seva application. After filling in the application details and paying the prescribed fee online, applicants must schedule their appointment by selecting “PSK Pune” and choosing the designated date.

Officials have emphasised that applicants must carry all required documents in the prescribed format to avoid inconvenience or rejection on the day of the appointment. In particular, those applying under the Tatkaal category are advised to carefully review eligibility conditions and documentation requirements, including submission of necessary verification certificates.
The special drive will be conducted on Saturday, April 11, between 9:00 am and 5:00 pm at the Mont Clair Building, Baner. Authorities noted that incomplete applications or missing documentation remain among the most common reasons for delays, and applicants are urged to follow guidelines carefully.

The initiative is expected to benefit a large number of citizens by providing quicker access to passport services and addressing appointment backlogs. Similar drives may be in other cities depending on demand and administrative requirements.
Officials reiterated that the entire process remains fully digital and transparent, with no role for intermediaries. Applicants have been advised to rely only on official platforms and avoid agents claiming guaranteed or expedited processing.
