BJP Releases ‘Sankalp Patra’ for West Bengal Polls, Amit Shah Announces 10 Major Promises

BJP’s Amit Shah led Bharatiya Janata Party has released its election manifesto,In a major political development ahead of the West Bengal Assembly elections, t titled the “Sankalp Patra,” in Kolkata.

10 April 2026 :The manifesto was unveiled at a public event in the city, where Amit Shah promised to build a “Sonar Bangla” and announced a series of major welfare and development commitments focused on farmers, youth, women, infrastructure, and security. Here are the 10 Key Promises in the Manifesto:

1. Farmers will receive ₹9,000 annual direct financial assistance, along with an additional ₹3,000 under the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme.
2. Graduates preparing for competitive exams will receive a monthly stipend of ₹3,000, totaling ₹15,000 annually.
3. Youth affected by recruitment irregularities and age-limit issues will be granted a 5-year relaxation in eligibility for examinations.
4. The BJP promised to completely stop illegal infiltration from Bangladesh if voted to power.
5. A Uniform Civil Code (UCC) will be implemented in West Bengal within six months of forming the government.
6. Pending Dearness Allowance (DA) for government employees will be cleared, and the 7th Pay Commission will be implemented within 45 days.
7. The Ayushman Bharat health scheme will be immediately implemented in the state to provide free healthcare to the poor.
8. Haldia port will be developed to boost the blue economy, and special efforts will be made to promote Darjeeling tea globally.
9. Advanced equipment and patrol boats will be provided to security forces to prevent river-based smuggling and infiltration.
10. A grand “Vande Mataram” museum will be built to celebrate Bengal’s cultural identity.

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee strongly criticized the manifesto, stating that trusting the BJP is like “befriending a snake,” calling the promises unrealistic and misleading. With elections scheduled on April 23 and April 29, political analysts are closely watching the impact of this manifesto on voters.
