Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport has issued a fresh health advisory for international passengers amid growing global concern over the Ebola outbreak, which has reportedly claimed more than 100 lives. Authorities have intensified monitoring and precautionary measures, particularly for travellers arriving from affected regions, as health agencies remain on high alert.

According to officials, airport health teams have been instructed to closely monitor passengers showing symptoms such as fever, fatigue, vomiting or unexplained illness. Medical screening and surveillance protocols have also been strengthened to ensure early detection and prevent any possible spread of the virus within the country.

The advisory comes as multiple countries continue to report rising Ebola infections, prompting several international airports to activate emergency preparedness systems. Delhi Airport authorities have urged passengers to cooperate with health officials and immediately report any symptoms or recent travel history linked to affected regions.

Health experts have reiterated that Ebola spreads through direct contact with infected bodily fluids and is not considered airborne. However, due to its high fatality rate and rapid transmission in vulnerable conditions, strict preventive measures are being enforced globally.

Officials clarified that there is currently no confirmed Ebola case reported in Delhi linked to the latest outbreak. However, the airport has adopted enhanced safety protocols as a precautionary step to strengthen preparedness and public confidence.

Travellers have also been advised to maintain hygiene precautions, avoid unnecessary panic, and rely only on official health advisories for updates. Airlines operating international routes have reportedly been asked to coordinate with airport and health authorities for immediate response if any suspected case is detected during travel.

The situation continues to be monitored closely by central health agencies and airport authorities as global health concerns surrounding the outbreak intensify.
