Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping held high-level talks in Beijing this week, further strengthening the strategic partnership between Russia and China through the signing of more than 40 bilateral cooperation agreements across multiple sectors.

The meeting, described by both leaders as a symbol of “deep friendship and mutual trust,” focused heavily on expanding economic collaboration, energy security, defence coordination and technological partnerships. The agreements reportedly include cooperation in infrastructure development, artificial intelligence, transportation, banking systems and long-term energy supply arrangements.

The summit comes at a time of increasing geopolitical tensions involving Western nations, ongoing sanctions on Russia and growing global competition over trade and technology influence.
