Madhuri Misal Writes To Pune Police Seeking Ban On Public Qurbani In Residential Areas

Madhuri Misal has written to Pune Police and senior state officials seeking preventive action against public animal sacrifice and qurbani activities in residential areas and housing societies.

In her letter, she cited concerns over law and order, public health, and possible social tensions, referring to recent incidents reported from the Mira-Bhayandar region.

The minister stated that some groups in Pune may attempt similar activities without administrative permission or health safety compliance.

She also expressed concern over alleged incidents of misconduct and harassment during large public religious gatherings, urging authorities to take preventive measures and ensure strict enforcement of regulations.

Officials have been requested to coordinate with police, municipal authorities, and the health department to maintain public order and avoid any communal tension in the city.
