The Air Force Academy’s 2025 Combined Graduation Parade commissioned 244 cadets, including female officers and international trainees, with awards for top performers, flypasts, and displays highlighting AI, joint operations, and combat readiness.


Hyderabad | 16 December 2025:The Air Force Academy (AFA), Dundigal, Hyderabad, hosted its Combined Graduation Parade (CGP) on 13 December 2025, celebrating the commissioning of 244 Flight Cadets from the 216th Course into the Indian Air Force. The parade marked the successful culmination of pre-commissioning training for Flying and Ground duty branches, reflecting the Academy’s emphasis on discipline, professionalism, and operational excellence.

Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Anil Chauhan, served as the Reviewing Officer, conferring the President’s Commission to the graduating cadets. He was received by Air Marshal Tejinder Singh, Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Training Command, and Air Marshal P.K. Vohra, Commandant, AFA. The parade opened with a General Salute, followed by a meticulous march past, demonstrating cadets’ precision and readiness.

The ceremony also celebrated six Indian Navy officers, eight Indian Coast Guard officers, and two cadets from Vietnam, who were awarded ‘Wings’ on completing flying training. Brevets were conferred on five officers finishing Navigation training. The highlight was the Commissioning Ceremony, where cadets took an oath to uphold India’s sovereignty and honour, formally entering service as Flying Officers.

The event featured an impressive flypast by Pilatus PC-7, Hawk, Kiran, and Chetak aircraft, alongside thrilling displays by the Akash Ganga team and the Air Warrior Drill Team. Awards were presented to top performers: Flying Officer Tanishq Aggarwal received the President’s Plaque and Nawanagar Sword of Honour for top merit in the Pilot Course; Flying Officer Saksham Dobriyal and Flying Officer Nitesh Kumar received the President’s Plaque for excellence in Navigation and Ground duty streams, respectively.

Addressing the parade, the CDS emphasised professionalism, humility, and ethical leadership, highlighting the role of technology, AI-driven operations, man-unmanned teaming, and autonomous systems in modern warfare. He underscored that Operation Sindoor exemplifies the IAF’s operational excellence and that Jointness, Atmanirbharta, and Innovation (JAI) will shape India’s future combat power.

The parade concluded with a slow march of newly commissioned officers and a special salute led by Chief of Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal A.P. Singh, accompanied by a Kiran formation overhead. The finale featured a synchronized aerobatic display by the Sarang helicopter team and Suryakiran Aerobatic Team, leaving spectators awed by the cadets’ accomplishments and the IAF’s operational prowess.
