Amitabh Bachchan has sold two premium adjoining flats in Mumbai’s Goregaon East for a combined ₹12 crore, marking a notable real-estate move in 2025.

MUMBAI, 07 November 2025 – Amitabh Bachchan has sold two adjoining luxury apartments in Goregaon East for a total of ₹12 crore, according to recently registered property documents. The flats, located on the 47th floor of Oberoi Exquisite Tower C, measure roughly 1,820 square feet each and were purchased by two individual buyers. Records show both units sold for around ₹6 crore apiece.

The actor originally bought the apartments in 2012 for about ₹8.12 crore combined. At today’s value, the sale reflects a gain of roughly 47 percent over thirteen years, though analysts note that the real return averages out to a modest three percent annually when compared with other investment opportunities. Each flat includes two parking spaces, and both buyers qualified for a one-percent stamp duty concession available to women in Maharashtra.

The transaction adds to Bachchan’s long track record of high-value real-estate activity in Mumbai. Industry observers say the decision to sell now may indicate a portfolio reshuffle or a simple decision to exit at a favourable moment. Goregaon East has evolved into one of the city’s most in-demand residential pockets, with rising infrastructure, improved road links and large township-style complexes drawing consistent interest from upper-income buyers.

Real-estate experts point out that the sale is also a reminder of how even marquee properties in premium towers don’t always produce double-digit annual returns. While Mumbai remains India’s most expensive housing market, slower long-term appreciation in certain micro-markets has sparked fresh discussion about whether luxury real estate still functions as a strong investment or more as a lifestyle asset.

Bachchan, who owns several properties across Mumbai including in Juhu and Andheri, has not commented on the sale, but public records confirm the transfer via registration details naming Asha Ishwar Shukla and Mamta Surajdev Shukla as the buyers. For now, the deal stands out as one of the more prominent celebrity property movements this year and adds another chapter to the financial interests of one of Bollywood’s biggest names.
