Pune – The Baner police cracked down on a burglary gang in Baner, arresting them and recovering stolen two-wheeler, cash and gold ornaments worth thousands.
Pune | 24 November 2025 – In a major law-enforcement breakthrough, the Baner police unit successfully apprehended a gang of house-breakers operating in the Baner area of Pune and recovered a substantial haul of stolen items. According to police sources, the suspects targeted residences when occupants were away, stealing cash, gold jewellery and two-wheelers. During the operation, officers seized a two-wheeler, approximately ₹38,000 in cash and several gold mangalsutras that had been stolen from local homes.
Investigators said the gang had been monitoring houses in the area, waiting for the right opportunities to strike. The Baner police reviewed CCTV footage and tracked suspicious movements in the neighbourhood before conducting coordinated raids that led to arrests. The accused persons are now in custody and being interrogated to determine if they have links to other similar house-breaking cases in the region. Neighbourhood residents welcomed the action, expressing relief that the police had acted decisively after multiple incidents in recent months.
Police have urged all homeowners in Baner and surrounding localities to enhance security measures such as locking windows and setting alarms, and to report suspicious individuals immediately. The investigation remains active, and charges under the relevant sections of the law will be filed upon completion of forensic analysis and recovery verification.
