Cash and Documents Stolen in Nighttime Break‐In at Agro Producer Company in Talegaon Dhamdhere
Thieves broke into an agro producer company late at night, made off with ₹33,000 cash, an LED TV and important documents. The entire act was captured on CCTV and being probed by Shirur police.
TALEGAON DHAMDHERE, PUNE, 15 November 2025 – A late-night burglary at an agro producer company in Talegaon Dhamdhere has left the farmer-run organisation shaken after thieves broke open the rear gate and stole cash, electronics and important business documents. The incident took place at the company’s office located near the Kasari bypass road. The director, Gopal Bhujbal, told police that when staff arrived the next morning, they found the back gate forced open and the office ransacked. CCTV footage revealed two masked men entering through the rear of the premises and moving directly toward the office area.
According to the complaint filed at Shirur Police Station, the thieves made off with ₹33,000 in cash from a cupboard, an LED TV worth around ₹10,000 and several financial ledger books containing important company records. The total loss is estimated at ₹43,000, but company members say the theft of financial documents could cause delays in ongoing transactions and audits. Police teams reviewed the CCTV video, which shows the intruders carrying bags, checking rooms quickly and leaving within minutes, suggesting they had prior information about the layout.
Investigators are examining whether the theft was done by someone familiar with the daily working pattern of the company. Forensic teams have been called to collect fingerprints and other material from the scene. Police are also verifying whether any known offenders from nearby villages were active in the area that night. Teams are scanning local CCTV networks to track movement on the bypass road before and after the break-in.
The agro company, run by farmers of the region, deals primarily in processing and trading agricultural produce. The incident has caused concern among members because the office handles cash transactions and stores physical records. Several nearby business owners have also expressed fear, saying night-time break-ins have increased over the past few months along bypass roads where foot traffic is minimal and lighting is poor.
Local residents said the burglary highlights the need for stronger security measures in rural commercial pockets. Many businesses still rely on basic locks and limited surveillance, making them easy targets. Police have urged similar establishments to improve lighting, upgrade CCTV systems and ensure that cash is not stored overnight.
The agro company has now initiated an internal review of its security setup and plans to install sturdier gates, alarms and additional cameras. Staff are also working to reconstruct missing documents and update digital backups to reduce future risk.
Police say they have some initial leads based on the footage and expect progress in the coming days. They have appealed to villagers and local shopkeepers to report any suspicious behaviour or attempts to sell electronic items without proper receipts. The investigation continues as officers track the suspects and review evidence collected from the site.
