In Gadhinglaj, Chandrakant Patil launched a sharp attack on Mahayuti leaders, accusing them of fund mismanagement and asserting BJP’s control over treasury decisions ahead of local elections.

Gadhinglaj (Kolhapur), 25 November 2025: During a campaign in Gadhinglaj, senior BJP leader Chandrakant Patil launched a strong criticism against Mahayuti coalition leaders, specifically targeting Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar and Guardian Minister Hasan Mushrif.

Patil stated, “Keys to the treasury may lie anywhere, but the owner of the treasury is with us,” asserting that real authority over state funds rests with the BJP.

He further accused the Pawar-led faction of attempting to assert control over the treasury in Gadhinglaj despite the coalition government at the state and central levels. According to Patil, the BJP, as the “owner” of the treasury, holds the ultimate authority over financial decisions.

Patil also issued a warning, saying, “If Mushrif criticizes, I know how to respond,” highlighting the internal tensions within the Mahayuti alliance.

This confrontation signals potential political maneuvering ahead of the local body elections in Gadhinglaj, where control over finances could become a key campaign issue. Local leaders and party workers are gearing up to emphasize the “control of the treasury” narrative in their election strategies.

Chandrakant Patil’s remarks underline both political rivalry within the Mahayuti alliance and the BJP’s attempt to assert dominance in the region. Analysts say this could influence voter perception and impact election outcomes in Kolhapur.
