Chennai police arrested eight people including Tamil-Malayalam actress Anju Krishna and assistant director Vincy Nivetha during a Valasaravakkam narcotics raid, seizing methamphetamine, ganja and related items as investigation continues
Chennai | February 06,2026:The Chennai City Police have arrested eight people, among them Tamil-Malayalam actress Anju Krishna and assistant director Vincy Nivetha, following a narcotics raid in Valasaravakkam on Thursday. The Anti-Narcotics Intelligence Unit South carried out the operation after receiving specific intelligence about alleged drug activity in the area.

Authorities said officers seized substances including methamphetamine, various forms of ganja, an LSD stamp and related paraphernalia during the search. Nine mobile phones taken from the group are also being examined by investigators as part of the probe.According to reports, the raid followed the arrest of another suspect, whose statements helped police identify links and lead them to the Valasaravakkam location where Anju Krishna and others were allegedly involved.

Anju Krishna has appeared in films such as Vellimalai and Aaro and has worked in both Tamil and Malayalam cinema. Her involvement in the case has drawn significant attention as the police investigation continues.All those arrested have been taken into custody and are being questioned as part of the ongoing investigation. Police have indicated further action will depend on the outcomes of interrogation and forensic examination of evidence.
