Nashik’s Clean Godavari initiative received a major push as the Municipal Corporation’s “Clean Godavari Bond” was formally listed at the National Stock Exchange in Mumbai. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, who attended the ceremony, said the government is committed to balancing development with the protection of the city’s cultural heritage.
Nashik| 04 December 2025: This comes amid rising concern over the large number of trees proposed to be cut for the Sadhugram project ahead of the upcoming Kumbh Mela. Fadnavis clarified that not all trees will be removed and assured that heritage conservation will remain a priority. He stressed that the guiding principle for future work will follow the vision of “growth along with legacy,” ensuring both progress and preservation go hand in hand.
Senior officials, including Chief Secretary Rajesh Agarwal, Urban Development Additional Chief Secretary Dr. K. H. Govindaraj, and Nashik Municipal Commissioner Manisha Khatri, were present during the listing event.

The Chief Minister noted that the strong subscription received for the Clean Godavari Bond reflects the financial strength and transparency of the local administration. Citizens and investors contributed enthusiastically, reaffirming public support for restoring the Godavari and upgrading infrastructure before the Kumbh Mela.
He added that several essential urban development works required for Kumbh preparations are already underway, and the government will ensure the sanctity of the event while protecting Nashik’s historic identity.
