Maharashtra braces for a cold wave on November 10 with steep drops in minimum temperatures across six districts; clear skies and dry conditions expected.

Pune | November10, 2025: Maharashtra is gearing up for a significant cold wave on November 10, as minimum temperatures are expected to fall sharply in multiple districts. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicts clear skies and dry weather across regions such as Konkan, Central Maharashtra, Marathwada and Vidarbha — conditions that favour strong nocturnal cooling and contribute to the falling thermometers.

In the Konkan coastal belt — including districts like Palghar, Thane, Mumbai, Raigad, Ratnagiri and Sindhudurg — the daytime highs may remain relatively warm (for example, Mumbai could touch around 34 °C), but the night‐time lows are forecast to plummet to around 18 °C. Inland cities like Pune may see a minimum temperature near 14 °C, while the maximum could remain near 31 °C. In Marathwada — covering areas such as Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Jalna, Parbhani, Beed, Hingoli, Nanded, Latur and Dharashiv — the chill is expected to bite harder; Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar in particular might record lows of around 11 °C. Northern districts including Dhule, Nandurbar, Jalgaon, Nashik and Ahilyanagar will also experience a marked drop in temperatures, with major cities like Nagpur (Vidarbha) forecast to have a maximum of about 28 °C and a minimum around 14 °C.

While the daytime heat may linger, the nights and early mornings will turn noticeably colder — prompting authorities to advise citizens to dress warmly during those periods. The Agriculture Department has specifically instructed farmers to take protective measures for temperature‐sensitive crops, such as pigeon-pea (tur), where the sudden cold could cause damage.

As the state transitions into the winter phase, this episode serves as a reminder of the impact of weather shifts on daily life, health and agriculture. The dry, clear conditions reduce cloud cover and hence heat retention at night, exacerbating the fall in minimum temperatures.
