Daikin To Build Its Largest Global AC Manufacturing And R&D Hub In Sri City, Andhra Pradesh

Daikin is setting up its biggest global manufacturing and R&D hub in Sri City, boosting local production, exports, automation, jobs, and India’s position in the global HVAC market through major investments.

Andhra Pradesh | December 3, 2025: Daikin, the world’s largest air-conditioning manufacturer, is establishing its biggest global manufacturing and research hub in Sri City, marking one of the company’s most ambitious expansions in India. The new facility is planned as a high-volume manufacturing and export centre, with products expected to reach more than 100 countries. Company officials say the project strengthens India’s emergence as a key player in the global HVAC landscape.

A major part of the plan focuses on increasing domestic manufacturing. Daikin aims to more than double its current production capacity for residential air conditioners in India, supported by advanced automation, robotics, and a smart supply chain system integrated into the facility. The upcoming hub will also house dedicated research and development infrastructure, complementing the company’s growing innovation network across the country.

The investment is among Daikin’s largest in India and is expected to generate significant employment opportunities in Sri City and neighbouring regions. Along with boosting local jobs, the facility is likely to attract multiple component suppliers, further developing the manufacturing ecosystem in Andhra Pradesh.

Daikin has outlined an ambitious target to push its Indian revenue to 4 billion dollars by 2030. Industry experts note that this expansion not only reflects strong demand in the domestic market but also positions India as a major global export base for air-conditioning products.

With the new hub, Daikin is expected to play a central role in strengthening India’s position as a manufacturing powerhouse in the global HVAC sector.
