In Rajasthan’s Karauli district, a tiger identified as T-80 “Toofan” attacked three youths riding a motorcycle to a wedding. Thanks to the driver’s bravery, all survived.
Karauli, Rajasthan | November 4, 2025: A routine journey to a wedding turned into a fight for life in Rajasthan’s Karauli district on Sunday evening, when three youths riding on a motorcycle were attacked by a tiger.
The incident occurred in the Maharajpura forest area near Chouhan ka Nala. The tiger identified as T-80 “Toofan”—leapt out from nearby bushes and attacked the youths.
The driver, Girdhari Mali, and his two passengers were riding fast down a forest track when the animal suddenly appeared. While the attack was sudden and dangerous, the rider didn’t stop or slow down. He continued driving for about three kilometres without glancing back—even as the tiger had clawed one of the passengers.
One of the passengers, Mahesh Yogi, sustained deep scratches to his back. Despite the injuries, he was taken to a local hospital and later shifted to the hospital in Savai Madhopur. He later received discharge.
Forest officials responding to the incident confirmed that tiger tracks were found near the location. They say they are increasing patrols in the area to prevent further attacks.
The attack has raised alarm among locals. A tiger moving so close to a public track—on a path often used by villagers traveling to events like weddings—highlights gaps in safety management near forest fringes.
As the investigation continues, wildlife authorities and local officials may face pressure to upgrade monitoring, erect warning signage, or reconsider timings of movement through forest passages.
