Gajanan Gurav has taken charge as the new Resident Deputy Collector of Kolhapur district, succeeding Sanjay Teli. He previously held the post of Tehsildar at Shahuwadi and Shirol.

Kolhapur | November 13, 2025: In a recent administrative reshuffle, the Maharashtra government has appointed Gajanan Gurav as the new Resident Deputy Collector of Kolhapur district. The official order was issued late Tuesday night, and Gurav assumed his duties on Wednesday morning, taking over from former Resident Deputy Collector Sanjay Teli, who was promoted to Additional Collector of Wardha district.

Prior to this new assignment, Gurav served as the Tehsildar of Shahuwadi and Shirol talukas. His appointment to the key post in the collectorate aligns with the government’s routine efforts to strengthen district-level administration and promote officers with field experience.

At a brief ceremony held at the Kolhapur Collectorate, Gurav was welcomed by Additional Collector Sanjay Shinde, other senior district officials, taluka officers and staff members. In his address, Gurav pledged to focus on efficient governance, land-rights oversight and citizen-friendly service delivery, emphasising his commitment to the district’s development.

Kolhapur district officials highlighted that the Resident Deputy Collector’s office plays a crucial role in coordinating administrative tasks across tehsils, overseeing land acquisition matters, and acting as a liaison between the collector and local revenue authorities. With Gurav’s background in revenue and local governance, stakeholders anticipate a more proactive engagement in the district’s developmental agenda.

Gurav’s appointment adds to a broader wave of administrative transfers and promotions enacted by the state government this week, aimed at injecting fresh leadership into several district-level posts.
