Gold prices in India saw a marginal rise on October 29, 2025, across all purity grades. According to the latest market data, 24-carat gold is priced at ₹12,158 per gram, while 22-carat gold stands at ₹11,145 per gram. The 18-carat variety is trading at ₹9,119 per gram. The upward movement follows a week of moderate fluctuation during the festive season.
In Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata, Pune, Hyderabad, and Bengaluru, the rates remain nearly identical, reflecting stable demand and consistent market trends. Chennai reported slightly higher prices, with 24-carat gold at ₹12,229 per gram and 22-carat gold at ₹11,210 per gram. The difference is largely due to local taxes and making charges, which often vary across states.
The increase in gold prices comes amid steady international demand and a minor depreciation of the Indian rupee against the US dollar. Analysts say the current rise is likely short-term, influenced by global cues and investor interest in safe-haven assets. As central banks across major economies continue to adjust their monetary policies, gold remains an attractive option for investors looking to hedge inflation and currency volatility.
In India, the wedding season is expected to further support demand for physical gold. Jewellers in several cities have reported higher footfalls following the festive sales, suggesting a continuing trend of retail buying. However, experts advise customers to monitor price movements closely, as the market remains sensitive to international developments, including shifts in crude oil prices and global bond yields.
With the 24-carat rate crossing ₹12,000 per gram again, gold continues to hold its position as one of India’s most preferred and reliable investment assets.
