:Police in Kuruli have uncovered a dangerous illegal gas refilling racket that posed a serious threat to public safety. Two men, Ganesh Santosh Kumbhar (24) and Uddhav Gosavi (36), both residents of Chakan, were arrested on Wednesday afternoon around 3:35 PM in the Gayakwad Wasti area.

Authorities revealed that the accused were siphoning gas from domestic cylinders without authorization and refilling it into smaller containers for resale. The operation was carried out without any safety measures, putting human lives at risk.

The case was registered following a complaint filed by Police Constable Kiran Jadhav from the Anti-Extortion Squad at Mahalunge Police Station. During the raid, police seized equipment and gas valued at approximately ₹45,300, which is now in police custody as part of the ongoing investigation.

Mahalunge Police officials stated that the probe aims to identify all individuals involved in the illegal operation. They stressed that such hazardous practices not only violate the law but can result in explosions or serious accidents if mishandled.

Residents have been urged to report any suspicious gas-related activity to prevent potential dangers. Authorities said further arrests may follow as the investigation continues.This bust underscores law enforcement’s commitment to public safety and cracking down on illegal operations that threaten communities. The police continue to monitor similar activities across the region to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
