India Post Launches 24-Hour Speed Post Service Across Six Major Metro Cities Including Mumbai

India Post has introduced 24-hour and 48-hour delivery services across six metro cities, aiming to enhance logistics efficiency with real-time tracking, faster delivery, and improved customer experience.
March 18, 2026 | New Delhi In a significant push towards modernising India’s logistics network, India Post has launched three advanced services 24 Speed Post’, ‘48 Speed Post’, and ‘24 Speed Post Parcel’. The services were inaugurated by Union Minister for Communications and Development of North Eastern Region, Jyotiraditya Scindia.
The newly introduced ‘24 Speed Post’ and ‘24 Speed Post Parcel’ services will ensure next-day delivery across six major metropolitan cities New Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Bengaluru, and Hyderabad. These services come equipped with real-time tracking, OTP-based delivery authentication, guaranteed timelines, and refund provisions in case of delays. Deliveries will also be operational on Sundays and holidays, excluding national holidays. Additionally, the ‘48 Speed Post’ service promises secure delivery of documents within two days between these cities. It includes end-to-end tracking and SMS alerts, ensuring customers remain informed about their shipments.
Speaking at the launch, Scindia described the initiative as a step beyond service expansion, highlighting it as a commitment to reliability, accountability, and enhanced customer satisfaction. He added that under the leadership of Narendra Modi, India Post is rapidly transforming into a modern and competitive logistics provider. The services are expected to benefit e-commerce companies, MSMEs, startups, and businesses by offering faster and dependable delivery solutions. Currently limited to six metro cities, the services are planned to be expanded to Tier-1 and Tier-2 cities in the near future following successful trials conducted over the past three months.
