Solapur | November 13, 2025: India began their journey in the first-ever Women’s Blind T20 World Cup with a commanding victory over Sri Lanka, securing the win by a margin of ten wickets. The contest, played at Modern School ground, New Delhi, saw India dominate from start to finish.
Sri Lanka batted first and were restricted to just 41 runs in 13.3 overs, thanks to a disciplined Indian attack and sharp fielding. Notably, seven Sri Lankan batters were run-out as India’s blind cricket unit displayed superb coordination. Ganga S. Kadam, hailing from Solapur, stood out for her exceptional bowling and ground field-work. Her all-round contribution was recognised with the Player of the Match award.
Chasing the modest target of 42, India reached it in just three overs, thanks to blistering starts and calm execution under pressure. The win sets an emphatic tone for India’s campaign in this landmark tournament, which features teams from across the globe.
