Satara |December 25 2025: A seemingly innocent friendship formed on Instagram took a frightening turn for a 26‑year‑old woman from Pune when she was allegedly lured to Kas Plateau in Satara under the pretext of a trip and then faced harassment, leading her to approach police for protection and justice. The woman, who works as an HR manager in a well‑known IT company, had been communicating regularly with a man she met on the social media platform, exchanging messages and building a rapport over time. Eventually, he convinced her to visit Kas Plateau a popular tourist attraction in the region with promises of a good outing but concealed intentions.
According to the complaint, the man, identified locally in Malharpeth, invited her to Satara in August, using the lure of a visit to the scenic plateau. Once they met in person, the situation changed dramatically and the woman says she was subjected to behaviour that made her uncomfortable and felt unsafe, prompting her to seek help from local law enforcement. She managed to contact police, who registered her case and began an investigation into the alleged harassment.
