Pune | March 11, 2026: Instagram users across several regions faced significant disruption after the popular social media platform experienced a sudden outage, leaving thousands unable to access key features including messaging and feed updates. The issue quickly drew widespread attention as users began reporting problems on outage-tracking websites and other social media platforms. According to reports from monitoring platform Downdetector, a surge in complaints was recorded as users flagged problems related to server connections, app functionality and the inability to send or receive direct messages. Many users also reported difficulties refreshing their home feeds and accessing certain sections of the application.

The disruption affected both the mobile application and web version of the platform, with complaints emerging from different parts of the world. As frustration grew, several users turned to other social media platforms to confirm whether the issue was widespread or limited to individual devices.
