Jammu & Kashmir’s Auqib Nabi Tops Ranji Trophy Wicket Chart with 60 Scalps

In a standout domestic cricket performance, Jammu & Kashmir pacer Auqib Nabi became the leading wicket-taker in the ongoing Ranji Trophy season after a seven-wicket haul against Karnataka in the final

India| 27 February, 2026: Auqib Nabi continued his spectacular run in the Ranji Trophy 2025-26 by claiming his seventh five-wicket haul of the season against Karnataka in the summit clash, pushing his season tally to 60 wickets and topping the tournament’s wicket-takers list.

The right-arm quick was instrumental in bowling out Karnataka for 293 in the first innings of the final, helping Jammu & Kashmir secure a massive 291-run first-innings lead on a pivotal day at the Hubli Cricket Ground. Nabi finished with figures of 5 for 54 from 23 overs, showcasing his ability to extract movement and trouble top batters.

Nabi’s tally of 60 wickets now places him above his closest rival, Uttarakhand’s Mayank Mishra, who finished with 59 wickets in the season. The milestone makes him the first bowler from Jammu & Kashmir to top the Ranji Trophy wicket list, highlighting both his consistency and impact across this domestic campaign.

His performance in 10 matches at an average of 12.56 has drawn praise from former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly and other cricketing voices, with some suggesting Nabi could be in contention for higher honours, including national selection. The pacer was also a sought-after player in the 2026 Indian Premier League auction before the season.

With Jammu & Kashmir pressing for their maiden Ranji title and Nabi leading the bowling assault, the season has marked a historic chapter for the team and the player alike.
