Kolhapur Birthday Party Turns Violent: Man Stabbed, Beer Bottle Used in Attack

A birthday party in Kolhapur’s Shivaji Peth turned violent as a fight between friends left one stabbed and another injured with a beer bottle; police arrested the accused and began investigation.

Kolhapur|October 22, 2025: A birthday celebration in Kolhapur’s Shivaji Peth took a dangerous turn on the evening of October 21, 2025, when a dispute among friends escalated into a violent altercation.

Ajinkya Salokhe, a resident of Sarnaik Colony, was stabbed during the incident. His brother, Akshay Salokhe, was also injured while trying to intervene in the fight. Both were immediately rushed to the CPR unit, where they received emergency treatment for their injuries.

The alleged assailant, 34-year-old Akash Bhonsle, was promptly arrested by the local police. Initial reports suggest that the clash began over a minor disagreement during the birthday party, which spiraled out of control. A beer bottle was reportedly used as a weapon during the confrontation.

Kolhapur police have registered a case against the accused and launched a detailed investigation to determine the exact sequence of events that led to the violence. Authorities are also examining witness accounts and reviewing CCTV footage from the area.
