Arrivals of Alphonso mangoes surge at Navi Mumbai APMC, with Konkan produce crossing 1 lakh boxes in a week, while retail prices remain high amid strong early-season demand.
Navi Mumbai | 30 March, 2026: The arrival of Alphonso mangoes, popularly known as Hapus, has gathered momentum at the APMC Market Navi Mumbai, with Konkan-origin produce crossing the significant milestone of one lakh boxes within a week.

According to market data, a total of 2.30 lakh boxes of Alphonso mangoes reached the APMC between March 23 and March 30. Of these, 1,10,359 boxes were sourced from the Konkan region, reaffirming its dominance in premium mango supply. In addition, around 61,237 crates arrived from other states, indicating a parallel rise in non-Konkan supply.
On March 30 alone, the market recorded an arrival of 49,176 boxes, reflecting a sharp increase in daily inflow as the mango season gathers pace. Traders attribute the surge to improving harvest conditions and rising demand from both wholesale buyers and retailers.
Despite the higher arrivals, prices have remained firm in the wholesale market. Traders reported that Alphonso mangoes are currently priced between ₹2,000 and ₹6,000 per dozen, depending on size and quality. Larger, premium-grade mangoes are commanding rates between ₹2,000 and ₹3,000 per dozen in the retail market, while average-quality fruit is being sold between ₹1,500 and ₹2,500 per dozen.

Market experts believe that prices are likely to stabilise or soften in the coming weeks as arrivals increase further in April. With peak harvesting expected soon, the supply of Konkan Alphonso is projected to rise substantially, which could bring down rates to the range of ₹2,000 to ₹3,500 per box for bulk purchases.
Traders also noted that early-season demand remains strong, particularly from metropolitan markets such as Mumbai and Pune, where Alphonso mangoes are highly sought after. Export demand is also expected to pick up, adding further momentum to market activity.
The Konkan region, known for producing high-quality Alphonso mangoes, plays a crucial role in shaping market trends during the season. Factors such as weather conditions, transportation logistics, and export orders typically influence both supply and pricing dynamics.
With increasing arrivals and steady demand, the mango trade at the Navi Mumbai APMC is expected to remain active in the coming weeks. Stakeholders across the supply chain are closely monitoring price trends as the season progresses toward its peak.
