Ranchi| December 1, 2025: Indian leg-spinner Kuldeep Yadav created history on Sunday during the first One Day International against South Africa at Ranchi. He bowled 10 overs, conceding 68 runs and taking four crucial wickets, turning the match in India’s favor. His scalps included Tony de Zorzi (39), Marco Jansen (70), Matthew Breetzke (72), and Prenelan Subrayen (17).

This marked the fourth time Kuldeep achieved a 4-wicket haul against South Africa in ODIs, surpassing Australian legend Shane Warne’s record. Previously, both Warne and India’s Yuzvendra Chahal had managed three 4-wicket hauls each against South Africa.

With this feat, Kuldeep Yadav now holds the top spot for most 4-wicket hauls against South Africa in ODI cricket, having claimed a total of 31 wickets in these matches. His performance not only strengthened Team India’s bowling attack but also cemented his status as one of the most effective spinners against South Africa.
