Due to a delayed November instalment, Ladki Bahin Yojana beneficiaries may receive a combined ₹3,000 this month, though the monthly assistance amount remains unchanged.

Mumbai, December 05, 2025 – Women enrolled in the Ladki Bahin Yojana may see a larger payment this month, as officials are preparing to credit ₹3,000 instead of the usual ₹1,500. The expected increase is not a permanent hike but a result of the pending November instalment, which wasn’t deposited on time. Rather than releasing two separate transfers, authorities are considering a combined payment for November and December, giving beneficiaries a small financial boost at the end of the year.

The scheme provides ₹1,500 every month to eligible women between 21 and 65 years of age whose annual family income is below ₹2.5 lakh. The assistance is meant to support day-to-day expenses and offer a stable safety net for women, especially those from lower-income households. For many families, this additional amount arriving together can help manage household budgets, clear pending bills or prepare for seasonal expenses in December.

Reports indicate that administrative delays, partly linked to election-related procedures and verification updates, slowed the release of the November payment. While some beneficiaries had been checking their accounts regularly, the silence from the system created concern. The latest update now offers reassurance that the money is on its way — just in a combined form.

Officials have also emphasised that beneficiaries must complete e-KYC if they want their payments to continue smoothly. A large number of women who haven’t finished the verification process experienced interruptions earlier, and the government has reminded them again to update Aadhaar-linked details. The administration maintains that delays should not be interpreted as withdrawal of benefits but as a technical backlog being cleared.

Women’s rights groups have welcomed the news, saying that a ₹3,000 deposit will offer some relief as families head into a financially demanding period. However, they also urged the government to ensure timely monthly payments going forward, reminding officials that many depend heavily on this assistance for basic needs.

Even as excitement builds around the possibility of receiving ₹3,000, authorities have not announced any change to the official structure of the scheme. The monthly support remains ₹1,500, and this month’s larger amount is only due to two instalments being merged. Any long-term change to the amount would require a fresh cabinet decision and budget allocation, which has not been proposed so far.

For now, beneficiaries are advised to keep an eye on their bank accounts, complete any pending verification, and wait for the combined transfer to reflect. If processed as expected, it will provide timely relief and help rebuild confidence among women who rely on the scheme.
