A woman from Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar is under ATS scrutiny for allegedly sending ₹3 lakh via hawala to Pakistan. Intelligence agencies have detained and questioned her about foreign links and suspicious funds.

Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar| November 26, 2025: Authorities launched a major investigation after discovering that a local woman reportedly transferred around ₹3 lakh to Pakistan through hawala channels. The case came to light when discrepancies in her Aadhaar data prompted a routine check by local police.

During initial inquiries, police found that she had been living in a five-star hotel for the past six months. Her banking and financial transactions raised red flags, prompting the involvement of the state Anti-Terror Squad (ATS) and intelligence agencies.
On November 25, after her bank transactions were scrutinised, officials detained her along with supporting documents and digital records including foreign passport and visa photos of an Afghan national friend. Documentation suggests money transfers from abroad, raising suspicions of funds being routed from foreign sources.
The woman reportedly claimed to have cleared the UPSC and used forged identity papers to pose as a senior official a claim shrouded in further doubts. Authorities are now analysing her financial trail, foreign contacts, and hotel stay records to determine whether there’s a broader money-laundering or terror-funding network.

Senior police and ATS officials said investigations are ongoing. They have cautioned against panic and have appealed to the public not to rush to conclusions until all digital, financial, and identity-related checks are complete. Meanwhile, the case has sparked concern over misuse of hawala networks for cross-border fund transfers and intensified scrutiny of suspicious financial and foreign connections across the region.
