Maharashtra Board Tightens Exam Security: CCTV, Drone Surveillance, and Strict Action Against Malpractice

Maharashtra Board announces SSC and HSC exam dates with strict anti-cheating measures, including CCTV in all classrooms, drone monitoring, and cancellation of exam centers lacking essential facilities.

Mumbai | November 11, 2025: The Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education has announced the schedule for the Class 12 and Class 10 examinations, to be held from February 10 to March 18, 2026, and February 20 to March 18, 2026, respectively. Alongside the schedule, the board has introduced strict surveillance measures to prevent malpractices during exams.

Each examination classroom will now be required to have a CCTV camera installed, and the footage must be preserved for at least 30 days for verification in case of suspicion. Additionally, drone monitoring will be deployed at sensitive centers to keep watch on suspicious movements, unauthorized communication, and potential paper leaks.

Examination centers will be required to ensure basic infrastructure such as CCTV cameras, boundary walls, clean washrooms, and access to drinking water. Centers without these facilities or with obstructed classrooms—like those with grilled or no windows may lose recognition.

Practical, oral, and internal assessments for Class 10 will be conducted from February 2 to 18, 2026, while similar exams for Class 12, including vocational subjects under NSQF, will take place between January 23 and February 9, 2026.

Board officials have confirmed that on-site inspections of all centers will begin from November 15 to ensure compliance. Those failing to meet the standards could face cancellation of their approval.

Through these measures, the Maharashtra Board aims to create a secure, transparent, and fair examination environment, safeguarding academic integrity across all nine divisions including Pune, Mumbai, Nagpur, Kolhapur, and Nashik.
