Government of Maharashtra inks historic ₹2,500 crore MoU with Rural Enhancers Group and Pune’s Nutrifresh Farm Tech at Davos WEF, witnessed by CM Devendra Fadnavis; pioneers AI-IoT farming, launches April 2026 for jobs and farmer growth

Davos |January 22, 2026:The Government of Maharashtra marked a milestone at the World Economic Forum (WEF) by signing a ₹2,500 crore Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Rural Enhancers Group and Nutrifresh Farm Tech India Pvt. Ltd. Chief Minister Shri Devendra Fadnavis was present as Mr. Ambar Ayade, MD & CEO of Rural Enhancers, and Mr. Sanket Mehta, CEO of Nutrifresh, formalized the agreement. This first-ever agriculture-focused deal at Davos spotlights modern, tech-driven farming solutions.​

The MoU targets large-scale investments in climate-responsive agriculture using Nutrifresh’s expertise in Controlled Environment Agriculture (CEA), powered by AI and IoT for safe, high-quality produce. Launching in April 2026, it promises resilient practices amid climate challenges. Nutrifresh, a 2019 Pune startup founded by Ganesh Nikam and Sanket Mehta, aims for 2,000 acres by 2028, USD 250 million revenue, with 50+ products across 15+ states and global markets.

Rural Enhancers Group leads funding and project integration through a blended model involving UAE institutions, Indian public banks, development finance bodies, and foreign banks. The Maharashtra Government provides policy, institutional, and implementation support. A special invitation to Pune-based Jayant Yeravdekar underscores the local significance of the event.

Mr. Ayade emphasized the initiative’s potential for direct and indirect job creation, agri-tourism development, women empowerment, and significant boosts to farmer incomes through assured market linkages and structured programs. The group also operates in healthcare, food and agriculture, ports, IT, and education sectors. This agreement aligns with Maharashtra’s broader 19 Davos MoUs worth over ₹14 lakh crore, driving economic growth across multiple industries.
